About MTBATX
UPDATE, JAN 2026: I’ve been incredibly busy with Austin Ridge Riders. I am the Marketing and Communications director (voluntary, unpaid) and this takes a ton of my free time. When I do get time, all I want to do is ride bikes and build trail. I’ve also been called back to the office full-time which means I lose 15 hours of personal time to a soul-sucking commute! That is a lot of time that was previously dedicated to keeping this site going. This site could be a much better resource than it currently is. The goal was to have a lot more content, and stories, and to consistently update things like the events page and the weekly rides around town. I am currently looking for help maintaining those pages.
MTBATX was created to be a content rich resource encouraging the growth of the sport of mountain biking in central Texas. Here you can find upcoming events, recaps, photos and video, information on local riding areas, trail conditions, shops and service, as well as local photographers and content creators.
MTBATX is for-profit, but as you can see there are no ads on this site, and the only thing I am selling is the merch I design and create, and action photos of riders. This business makes no money, and instead I put a considerable amount of my personal resources into making it work (including my time). You can support the site, as well as local riding and trailbuilding organizations like Austin Ridge Riders via the contribute page, or by picking up some sweet homegrown merch.
